Rate of change describes how one quality changes in relation to another. Rate of change=Change in Distance/Change in Time When the rate of change is the same each time, it is called a constant rate of change. To find the constant rate of change in the given table, let's see if we can identify a pattern between each row.

Looking at the changes in the table, we see that every time the time increases by 1 second, the distance increases by 6 meters. We can substitute these values into the equation.

Rate of change=Change in Distance/Change in Time
Rate of change=6/1
Rate of change=6
