Exercise 13 Page 407

To reflect a point in the y-axis, we use the same y-coordinate and take the opposite of the x-coordinate.

(4.25,-1.75)

Practice makes perfect

To reflect a point in the y-axis, we use the same y-coordinate and take the opposite of the x-coordinate. Doing it twice will result in coming back to the original point. (x,y) → ( - x,y) → ( -( - x), y ) = (x,y)We start from a certain point and get to (-4.25, -1.75) by reflecting it across the y-axis. So, we should reflect it once again to get back to the original point. (-4.25, -1.75) → ( -(-4.25), -1.75) Let's simplify the result. ( -(-4.25), -1.75) = (4.25,-1.75)
