Let's look at a circle with the given radius.

Remember that the area of a circle with radius r is calculated using the formula below. A=π r^2 From the figure, we know that the radius of the circle is 9ft. By substituting 8 for r in the formula, we can calculate A. We will use 3.14 for π.
A=Ď€ r^2
A=Ď€( 9)^2
A=Ď€(81)
A=254.34
The area of the circle is 254.34ft^2.
