To solve an equation, we should first gather all of the variable terms on one side and all of the constant terms on the other side using the Properties of Equality. In this case, we need to use the Addition and the Division Property of Equality to solve the equation.
0.5p - 3.45 = -1.2
0.5p = -1.2 + 3.45
0.5p = 2.25
p = 2.25/0.5
p=4.5
