We want to divide two decimal numbers. The calculations are easier if we multiply the divisor and the dividend by the same power of 10 so that the divisor is a whole number. In this case, we will multiply by 10. 15 183.3* 10 &= 151 833 473* 10 &= 4730 This means that 15 183.3÷ 473 is the same as 151 833÷ 4730. Now we will find the quotient. We divide, multiply, subtract, and compare as many times as we need.
Since 151 833÷ 4730=32.1, we know that 15 183.3÷ 473=32.1.
