Practice makes perfect
a Let's assume that our math class is a sample from a population of all students at our school. Suppose we wanted to find the answer to the following research question.

What language class are students most excited about?

We can safely assume that most students choose language courses that that captivate their interest the most. We might then ask our classmates about the language course they chose to attend in the next year.

Which language class do you plan to enroll in for the upcoming academic year: Spanish, French, German, or Chinese?

Notice that this is just one example of a solution to the given situation.

b We want to answer the following research question, using our math class as a sample from the population of all high school math students.

On average, how long do students spend on homework?

We could encourage our classmates to reflect on the time they spent doing homework the previous week. In this way, the results will be more accurate, as most students may not recall the exact time they spent on homework throughout the entire year

How much time did you spend on homework for each subject last week?

Notice that this is just one example of a solution to the given situation.

c Let our math class be a sample from the population of all US teenagers. We want to answer the following research question.

Most popular streaming service among teenagers.

Here is a sample question we could ask to address the matter.

What video streaming service do you use most often?

Notice that this is just one of many solutions to the given situation.
