Let's label the result of log 0.3 as x. log 0.3 = x Using the definition of a logarithm, we can write this logarithmic equation in exponential form. Notice that the base of the logarithm is 10. log_(10) 0.3= x ⇕ 10^x= 0.3 If we set x= 0 the left-hand side becomes 1 since any base to the zeroth power equals 1. 10^0=1 Therefore, for 10^x to equal 0.3, the value of x must be less than 0. In fact, x must be about -0.5228 for the equation to hold true.
10^x=0.3
10^(-0.5228)? =0.3
0.300054... ? =0.3
