Exercise 38 Page 240

Change the number to a decimal.

B

Practice makes perfect

We have the following number line.

Given number line
We want to know to which of the letters corresponds to 79.5 %. To do this, let's first write this percent as a decimal by removing the percent sign and moving the decimal point two places to the left.
79.5%=0.795

We see that 79.5 % = 0.795... This means that 79.5 % is between 0.79 and 0.8. 0.79 < 0.795 < 0.80 Let's mark these bounds on the number line and see which letter falls between them.

Number line with bounds marked

Only letter B falls within these bounds, so B shows the graph of 79.5 %.
