Exercise 38 Page 226

6x+3

Practice makes perfect

We want to simplify the given expression. To do it, we will use the Distributive Property to factor out x from the two variable terms.

\(x+3+5x\)
\(x+5x+3\)
\(1x+5x+3\)
\((1+5)x+3\)
\(6x+3\)

Since $6x$ and $3$ are not like terms, the expression cannot be simplified further.
