Decimals and percents are ways to show parts of a whole. We want to tell which number is greater. 20 %, 0.02 To do this, we will write a decimal as a percent. To write a decimal as a percent, we move the decimal point two places to the right and add the percent symbol.

We found that 0.02 expressed as a percent is 2 %. Since 20 is greater than 2, 20 % is greater than 2 %. This means that 20 % is greater than 0.02.
