a We want to draw the graph of the exponential function, y=0.25^x. To do so, we will first make a table of values.

Let's now plot and connect the points ( 0, 1), ( 1, 0.25), ( 2, 0.0625), and ( 3, 0.015625) with a smooth curve.

The domain of the function is all real numbers greater than or equal to zero, since we cannot zoom a negative number of times. Doman:& x ≥ 0 We see that the y-values take values between 1 and 0. Note that the function is equal to 1 when x=0 and the x-axis is the asymptote. Hence, the range of the function is the following interval. Range:& 0 < y ≤ 1

b The y-intercept is found when x=0. We have shown that it is equal to 1 in the table in Part A. This means that when we do not zoom in we see all of the original screen.

c To find what percent of the original screen we see when we zoom in twice, we will substitute 2 for x.

y=0.25^x
y=0.25^2
y=0.0625

We see 0.0625, or 6.25 % of the original screen.
