We are given the following translation. (x,y) → (x-8,y+4)To translate from the image to the preimage, we will have to do the opposite of the given translation. This means that instead of subtracting 8 from the x-value and adding 4 to the y-value, we should add 8 and subtract 4. Let's do it! Preimage to Image: & (x,y) → (x - 8,y + 4) Image to Preimage:& (x,y) → (x + 8,y - 4) Now, we can use our new rule on the image C' to get the preimage C. ccc (x,y) & → & (x+8,y-4) C'(-3,-10)&→ & C(5,-14) Finally, the coordinates for the preimage are C(5,-14).
