We can translate this triangle using the given translation vector, ⟨ -2, 6 ⟩. The first number in the component form of a vector tells us how we should move the points in the horizontal direction. The second number in the vector tells us how we should move in the vertical direction. Let's think about what this means for our vector. ⟨ -2 , 6 ⟩ move left 2 units, move up 6units Let's see how this affects point L first.

The new point L' is a translation of point L by 2 steps to the left and 6 steps up. Now we will do the same thing for points M and N.

Now that we have translated all the points, we can draw our new triangle. We can also include the original triangle as a point of comparison.
