Note that to draw a graph on a calculator, we first press the Y= button and type the function in one of the rows. Having written the function, we can push GRAPH to draw it.
See solution.
We will use a graphing calculator to graph the given equation using the standard viewing window and a square viewing window. y=2x-3 Let's start!
In the standard viewing window, the settings should be as follows.
Now that we set the window, we can graph the equation. To do so, we first press the Y= button and type the function in one of the rows. Having written the function, we can push GRAPH to draw it.
In the standard viewing window we can see that the tick marks are closer together on the y-axis compared to those on the x-axis. Therefore, we cannot perceive the true form of the equation's graph.
In a square viewing window, we will change the settings to the following.
Now, we can graph the equation.
This time, the distance between the tick marks is the same on both axes. Thus, we see the graph of the equation in its true form.
Finally, we will compare the graphs viewed in the standard window and in a square window.
As we can see, the graph in the standard viewing window looks more skewed than the one in a square viewing window.
